Keni Valenti announces the third show of the 2013 season, "Here Come the Brides" celebrating Brides everywhere – gay, straight, up, down, in, out – here they come. Keni is displaying everything from the really rare Vivienne Westwood “Virgin’s Dress”, Courreges futuristic take on the “White Suit” and the Tom Ford Matte Jersey 90’s evening dress. With inspiration stemming from the time honored celebration of spirits united to the Caribbean traditions of life celebrated even when passing to the afterlife. White, white, white, white light. Here come the Brides.
Vogue Magazine, "W", and New York Magazine have crowned Keni Valenti the "King'" and for over 30 years he has been a designer, fashion expert and historian for the industry. Prada, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Pucci, Cavalli, Dior - name any fashion house and Valenti has had a hand in steering new design through his collection's perspective. Ten years ago, the legendary gallerist, curator and all around art maverick Holly Solomon, telephoned Valenti having heard that he was collecting important fashion pieces. Valenti suggested to her the idea of a fashion gallery where fashion could be presented as art - and she said "that's BLEEPING genius". The "Pop Princess and the King" were unable to launch that idea in New York due to her untimely death, but a few years later and with a few thousand design pieces added to the collection, Valenti essentially moved the 20th century down to beautiful Miami and into the art world of Wynwood to do just that.
The greatly anticipated third 2013 show opening will take place on Saturday, July 13, from 6-10 at Keni Valenti Gallery, 2612 NW 2nd Avenue, Miami, FL 33127 RSVP: or facebook - keni valenti gallery For all those visiting California, Keni’s most recent show, “Lilly Pulitzer” is re-opening on August 9 thru September 29, 2013 at the Palos Verdes Art Center 5504 West Crestridge Road, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275.
