KENI VALENTI announces the first show of the 2013 season ," The Battle of Versailles"based on the 1973 Fashion show atVersailles. Theevent created by Eleanor Lambertand Versailles curator Gerald Van der Kemp to raise money to restore the famed palace was held on November 28,1973; it pitted old world designers(Yves Saint Laurent, Pierre Cardin, Emanuel Ungaro, Christian Dior, and Hubert de Givenchy) and American relative newcomers (Oscar de la Renta, Stephen Burrows, Halston, Bill Blass, and Anne Klein. "We planted the flag of American fashion" says model Pat Cleveland at the reunion in July 2011. Vogue Magazine, "W" and New York Magazine have called KENI VALENTI the"King'" and for over 30 years he has been a designer and fashion expert and historian for the industry. Prada, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Pucci, Cavalli, Dior, - name any fashion house and Valenti has had a hand in steering new design through his collection's perspective. Ten years ago, the legendary gallerist, curator and all around art maverick Holly Solomon, telephoned Valenti having heard that he was collecting important fashion pieces. Valenti suggested to her the idea of a fashion gallery where fashion could be presented as art - and she said "that's BLEEPING genius". The "Pop Princess and the King" were unable to launch that idea in New York due to her untimely death, but with a few years later and a few thousand design pieces added to the collection, Valenti essentially moved the 20th century down to beautiful Miami and into the art world of Wynwood. The KENI VALENTI GALLERY in Wynwood is the first fashion gallery in Miami showcasing the most historically important designers and designs, as art. Each individual show, which up-dates every 2 months, showcases a specific designer or design concept. Valenti's gallery is a stepping stone toward the development of his Museum of Fashion destined for the city of Miami, where he will curate his 10,000 plus piece collection documenting the history of fashion and its importance in art and culture. The Wizard of Wynwood has arrived. The greatly anticipated debut of the the 2013 show opening will take place on Saturday, January 12, from 6-10 at Keni Valenti Gallery, 2612 NW 2nd Avenue, Miami, FL 33127 email@example.com
